About Fort Mott State Park

Built as part of a three-fort defense system guarding the Delaware River, this site went up during the Reconstruction era and was later modernized under the Endicott program in the 1890s. It saw active duty during the Spanish American War and World War I, working alongside Fort Delaware and Fort DuPont before closing in 1944. The state acquired the grounds afterward, preserving the old fortifications as parkland.
