About Trap Pond State Park

A remnant of a much larger wetland that once stretched across southwestern Delaware is preserved within this park's 3,993 acres. The land protects one of the largest surviving fragments of that original swamp, and it holds an extensive stand of bald cypress trees rising from its waters. The pond itself sits at the center of the property, giving the park its name.
