Nine miles of undeveloped beach stretch along the east end of St. George Island, forming the barrier island land this park occupies. The site sits in northwestern Florida, separated from the mainland and reached by crossing over to the island itself. Its position at the island's eastern tip places it away from the developed areas closer to the causeway.
