About Hopkinton State Park

1947 marks the year this reservoir stopped supplying drinking water to Boston and became parkland instead. The property spans Hopkinton and Ashland, with its dam and spillway recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 1990. A state commission included it among 1,000 recommended Massachusetts destinations in 2010, and oversight today falls to the Department of Conservation and Recreation.
