About Muskegon State Park

Two miles of sand beach line Lake Michigan here, with another mile of shoreline along Muskegon Lake on the opposite side of the park's 1,233 acres. The land sits between these two bodies of water, giving visitors a choice of freshwater lake settings within the same protected area. This combination of a large inland lake shore and an open Great Lakes beach has been part of the park since its founding in 1923.
