About Van Buren State Park

Lake Michigan borders this 400-acre recreation area, where forested sand dunes rise above a swimming beach along the shoreline. The land sits at the meeting point of South Haven Township and Covert Township, just north of the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant and adjacent to the county-owned North Point Conservation Area. It is maintained and operated by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and offers camping among the dunes.
