About Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park

A restored 19th-century village named Forestville sits inside the park, kept and operated as a historic site by the Minnesota Historical Society. Below ground, the park holds Mystery Cave, the longest cave in Minnesota, which visitors can enter and explore. Together the two parts combine a preserved settlement above the surface with a lengthy underground passage beneath it, giving the park both a historical district and a cave system within the same boundaries.
