About Montauk State Park
Nearly 3,000 acres surround the springs that feed the Current River at its origin, including Montauk Springs, which sends out an average of 53 million gallons daily. A fish hatchery operates within the grounds, and the waters here draw anglers after rainbow and brown trout. The tract has been part of the state park system since 1926.
