About Forked Run State Park

A 102-acre lake sits at the center of this 791-acre park, formed by a dam built in 1952 the year the park opened to the public. The land was carved out of the adjoining Shade River State Forest, and the park still shares a border with that forest today. Ohio State Route 124 runs along its front, giving direct access to the grounds.
