About Lake Hope State Park

A 120-acre impoundment on Big Sandy Run forms the center of the park, holding back water within the larger surrounding tract of Zaleski State Forest. The park covers 2,983 acres, all set inside that forest land. Its focus on the lake itself, formed by damming the creek, gives visitors a body of water to base a visit around within a much larger wooded property.
