About Rockbridge State Nature Preserve

A natural sandstone bridge, formed lower in the rock layers than most of the other well-known formations in the Hocking Hills region, is the reason this preserve was set aside. The reserve protects that arch and the surrounding land where it stands, giving visitors a formation distinct in its geology from the sandstone features found elsewhere nearby.
