About Cherokee State Park
Several smaller parcels near the Pensacola Dam and around the shoreline of Grand Lake o' the Cherokees make up this 43-acre state park, rather than one continuous tract. The lake itself covers more than 59,000 acres with about 1,300 miles of shoreline, and the park sits on its west side. A lighted boat ramp, a 9-hole golf course, campsites, and a group shelter are among the facilities, with fishing and water sports noted as common activities in the area.
