About Kettle Creek State Park

1,793 acres of valley land sit here, closed in by mountains and surrounding wild forestland. The grounds hold the Alvin R. Bush Dam, put up in 1961 by the Army Corps of Engineers to control flooding along the West Branch Susquehanna, and several of the park's recreational structures date to Depression-era work crews from the Civilian Conservation Corps. Sproul State Forest wraps around most of the property, and Westport lies about seven miles to the south along Route 120.
