About S. B. Elliott State Park

Civilian Conservation Corps crews developed this 318-acre tract during the 1930s, and it now sits fully enclosed within Moshannon State Forest. The land is entirely wooded, covered in second growth stands of mixed oak species such as northern red oak, chestnut oak, and shagbark hickory, alongside hardwoods including sugar maple, black cherry, aspen, birch, hemlock, and ash. No fields or clearings break up the tree cover.
