About Black Moshannon State Park

3,480 acres surround Black Moshannon Lake, which was created by damming Black Moshannon Creek. A bog within the park supports carnivorous plants, orchids, and other species not typically found elsewhere in Pennsylvania. It holds the designation of largest reconstituted bog in the state, and the surrounding land is bordered largely by Moshannon State Forest.
