About Sand Bridge State Park

Three picnic pavilions here were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression, and they still anchor the grounds today. At 3 acres, this is the smallest state park in Pennsylvania, essentially a picnic area just off Route 192, surrounded by Bald Eagle State Forest. Rapid Run, a trout stream stocked by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, runs through the property. Even the origin of the name Sand Bridge is unknown, unexplained even on the park's own official site.
