About Tuscarora State Park

Locust Mountain and Tuscarora Lake are the dominant features of this 1,618-acre tract spread across Rush, Ryan, and Schuylkill Townships. The park's name comes from the Tuscarora Indians, who settled in the area after being pushed out of North Carolina following the Tuscarora War, and later were displaced again by Pennsylvania's colonial settlers. The grounds sit just off Pennsylvania Route 54.
