About Bicentennial Mall State Park

Nineteen acres make up this linear stretch of ground built as an extension of the Tennessee State Capitol grounds. Modeled on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., it draws on Classical Greek, Baroque, and Beaux-Arts architecture and functions as an outdoor museum, using monuments, walkways, and interpretive displays to trace the state's history, geography, culture, and musical heritage. It is planted throughout with species native to Tennessee, and it draws more than 2.5 million visitors a year, making it the most visited of the state's 65 state parks.
