Two counties, Davidson and Rutherford, share the ground this park occupies, most of it strung along the eastern shore of Percy Priest Lake. That lake is not natural: it formed when the Stones River was impounded. The park's identity here is tied to the water's edge, giving visitors lake shoreline as the main feature to plan around.
