About Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site

Colonel John Tipton put up the main house in 1784, and the property grew into a working farmstead with eleven structures still standing. Visitors can see the smokehouse, pigsty, loom house, still house, springhouse, log barn and corncrib that supported daily life there. The grounds also preserve the home of George Haynes, who was enslaved by the Haynes family.
