About Natural Tunnel State Park
A massive naturally formed cave runs through the mountain here, large enough that a railroad still uses it as a tunnel. The park is built around this passage, known as Natural Tunnel, set within the Appalachian Mountains. The land protects the tunnel and its surrounding terrain, giving visitors a chance to see rail lines running through solid rock rather than open track.
