About Gunlock State Park
266 acres of impounded water make up Gunlock Reservoir, which the park borders along the Santa Clara River. The reservoir's dam was built the same year the park was established, constructed for irrigation supply and flood control rather than recreation alone. The park sits roughly 15 miles from St George, giving access to this stretch of river turned into a standing reservoir.
