About Wellington State Park
Newfound Lake's southwest shore holds 220 acres of public land centered on the largest freshwater swimming beach in the state park system. Beyond the shoreline, visitors can fish, paddle non-motorized boats, and picnic along the water. A 7-mile trail network starting in the park climbs to the summits of Little and Big Sugarloaf mountains, giving hikers a route beyond the lake itself.
