About Stillwater State Park
1930s crews from the Civilian Conservation Corps built the grounds here, on the shore of Lake Groton within Groton State Forest. The setting borders the Groton Nature Center and sits near Boulder Beach and Big Deer state parks, with grounds laid out for tents, picnic tables, and launching onto the lake itself. Access to the water is the main draw, whether for paddling, fishing, or simply sitting along the shoreline.
