About Mason Neck State Park

1,814 acres make up this peninsula, bordered by Pohick Bay to the north, Belmont Bay to the south and the Potomac River to the east, land once called Dogue Neck before it took the Mason name. It sits next to the Elizabeth Hartwell Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge and shelters bald eagles, great blue herons and ospreys alongside white-tailed deer and numerous lichen species.
