About Rockport State Park
Nearly 600 of the park's 632 acres were protected as old-growth forest, land that was never logged and now sits at the base of Sauk Mountain. Five miles of trails cross the property, including the Sauk Mountain Trail and the Evergreen Trail, which runs through the stands of old-growth timber. The acreage gives visitors a sense of forest that predates the surrounding managed woodlands common to the region.
