About Crater of Diamonds State Park

Diamonds have turned up here without interruption since 1906, in a 37.5-acre plowed field that remains one of the few diamond-bearing sites in the world open for the public to search. Among the finds are the Uncle Sam, over 40 carats and the largest diamond ever unearthed in the United States, and the Strawn-Wagner Diamond, graded perfect. The park covers 911 acres in total.
