About Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park
A donation from Owen Cheatham, the founder of Georgia-Pacific, created this park so its coast redwoods would be preserved for good. The land spans three separate units along the Van Duzen River, covering 430 acres. Cheatham Grove, added in 1983 through the Save the Redwoods League, sits four miles west of the main unit and holds its own stand of old trees.
