About St. Vrain State Park

Formerly called Barbour Ponds, this park centers on a series of ponds and a reservoir named Blue Heron Reservoir. It holds the state's largest Blue Heron rookery and draws migrating waterfowl, songbirds and occasional bald eagles, making it a known spot for birding. The grounds support year-round fishing and hiking, and camping is available throughout the year.
