About Golden Gate Canyon State Park

12,119 acres of Front Range terrain make up this park, with 42 miles of hiking trails and another 27 miles open to horses and bicycles. The land spans both Gilpin and Jefferson counties. Facilities include a visitor center, more than 100 campsites, and 125 picnic sites. Visitation topped one million in 2019, a jump of over 20 percent from the year before.
