About Fort Ridgely State Park

The Minnesota River valley frames the grounds of this park, which preserves the remains of Fort Ridgely, where the Battle of Fort Ridgely was fought during the Dakota War of 1862. The site once held the only 9-hole golf course among Minnesota's state parks, laid out along Fort Ridgely Creek with views over the river below.
