About Don Robinson State Park

More than 800 acres of sandstone box canyons, shelter caves, cliffs and glades sit within the upper LaBarque Creek watershed, protecting a mix of upland and bottomland forest. The land came from businessman Don Robinson, who spent decades buying up parcels with the goal of matching the footprint of New York City's Central Park before leaving it to the state at his death. Visitors can see the stone house he moved into in 1978, along with two hiking trails and a picnicking area.
