About Katy Trail State Park

A former railroad corridor forms the spine of this park, carrying the Katy Trail across 240 miles of Missouri, mostly tracing the northern bank of the Missouri River. The route follows the old Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad right-of-way and stands as the longest continuous recreational rail trail in the country. Its surface is packed limestone pug, built flat and hard for hikers, joggers, and cyclists moving through the corridor.
