About Mary Jane Thurston State Park

The Maumee River runs along the park's south bank, near surviving remnants of the old Miami and Erie Canal. The 105-acre grounds were named for Mary Jane Thurston, a schoolteacher from nearby Grand Rapids who left the land for the park's creation. Visitors can hunt, fish, boat, picnic, and camp there throughout the year.
