About Whipple Dam State Park

Whipple Lake, a 22-acre man-made lake, sits at the center of this 256-acre park in Jackson Township. The lake was originally built during Pennsylvania's lumber era to power a sawmill, a purpose tied to the late 19th and early 20th century timber industry that once swept the region. The park lies just east of Pennsylvania Route 26.
