Eighteen and a half acres near Cove Gap in Peters Township hold the site tied to James Buchanan, the nation's 15th president. The land was given to the state by Harriet Lane, his niece, as a tribute to him. It sits along Pennsylvania Route 16 on Tuscarora Mountain, marking the ground connected to his birth.
