The Sandhills region setting covers 1,419 acres of terrain about 12 miles from downtown Columbia. Known locally as "Sesqui," the park sits on ground shaped by the sandhill landscape typical of this part of South Carolina. Its size and location make it one of the larger tracts of protected sandhill terrain near the capital city.
