About Mousetail Landing State Park
A tannery fire during the Civil War is said to have driven swarms of mice toward the river landing here, giving the park its name. The 1,247-acre park sits along the eastern bank of the Tennessee River, protecting that stretch of riverfront land. It ranks among the newer additions to the state park system.
