About Standing Stone State Park

A Civilian Conservation Corps-era project shaped this land into a park in 1939, built around a 69-acre reservoir called Standing Stone Lake. The 855 acres along the lake's shoreline sit within the much larger 11,000-acre Standing Stone State Forest, which surrounds the park on all sides. Visitors get a small, constructed lake set inside a far larger tract of forested public land.
