About Pedernales Falls State Park

5,211.7 acres of land along the banks of the Pedernales River make up this park, opened in 1971 under the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The river itself is the central feature, with the park's name referring to the falls found along its course. At more than 5,200 acres, the property offers considerable riverside terrain to explore on foot.
