About Lake Guntersville State Park

Built along the eastern shore of Guntersville Lake, a 69,000 acre impoundment of the Tennessee River, this state park spans 5,909 acres of shoreline land set aside for public recreation. It is managed by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and includes resort-style facilities within its boundaries. The scale of both the reservoir and the park grounds gives visitors a large stretch of water and land to explore in one place.
