About Cloudland Canyon State Park

3,485 acres span the western edge of Lookout Mountain here, cut through by a deep gorge that Sitton Gulch Creek carved into the rock. Elevation across the property ranges from 800 to over 1,800 feet, and at the bottom two waterfalls drop over layers of sandstone and shale into small pools. Views into the canyon open up from the picnic area parking lot and continue along a rim trail that traces the edge of the gorge.
