About James H. Floyd State Park

Two lakes covering 51 acres anchor this 561-acre park, set at the base of Taylor Ridge and bordered by the Chattahoochee National Forest. The land takes its name from James H. "Sloppy" Floyd, a Democrat who represented the area in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1953 to 1974. Visitors can fish, hike, and camp on the grounds, and the Pinhoti Trail passes directly through the park. A children's playground is also on site.
