About Bean Hollow State Beach

Forty-four acres of coastline make up this stretch, acquired by the state in 1958. Tide pools here hold anemones, crab, and sea urchins, and a self-guided nature trail runs along the shore. Fishing, picnicking, and beachcombing are the main activities, since swimming is considered dangerous due to cold water, rip currents, heavy surf, and sharks. The beach has also become a known spot for running 1/10 scale radio control four wheel drive trucks.
