About Rocky Glen State Park

Recognition as the state's forty-seventh state park came through the 1943 Connecticut Register and Manual, marking its formal entry into the state park system. The land itself remains undeveloped, spanning 46 acres along the west side of the Pootatuck River. A hike through the property leads to a scenic cascade, and the park carries a one-and-a-half mile segment of Al's Trail, part of a greenway that runs 10.7 miles through Newtown.
