About Whittemore Glen State Park

242 acres of undeveloped woodland form the setting for hiking and horseback riding trails through this glen. The land marks the eastern end of the Larkin State Park Trail and sits just outside the southwestern edge of Waterbury. It joined the state park system as Connecticut's forty-eighth state park, listed in the 1945-46 Connecticut Register and Manual, and remains under the care of the state's environmental protection department.
