About North Point State Park

667 acres of the park's total area is set aside as Black Marsh, a designated state wildlands zone that makes up roughly half the property. The remaining grounds occupy the former site of Bay Shore Park, once one of Maryland's leading amusement parks in the early to mid-1900s, and now show restored remnants of that earlier attraction. Trails, bicycling routes, swimming access, and picnic areas are laid out along the Chesapeake Bay shoreline, and the property is managed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
