About Morris State Park

161 acres here preserve a stretch of Crowley's Ridge, a distinct landform found only in this part of southeast Missouri and adjoining northeast Arkansas. A two-mile hiking trail follows a portion of this ridge, giving visitors a way to walk through the geologic formation itself. The land was donated to the state in 1999 by businessman Jim D. Morris, for whom the park is named.
