About Keowee-Toxaway State Natural Area
Lake Keowee's shoreline forms the boundary of this natural area, land that Duke Power once owned before it became public. The park protects acreage along the lake, giving visitors access to the water's edge. Its creation in 1970 marked the transfer of former utility company holdings into state hands for conservation and public use.
