About Lyons Ferry State Park
A reservoir on the Snake River, Lake Herbert G. West, took shape in the 1960s after the Army Corps of Engineers built the Lower Monumental Dam about 17 miles downstream, and the park sits along its shore near where the Snake meets the Palouse River. Facilities here support boating, fishing, and swimming, and the site is jointly managed by Washington State Parks and the Corps, which runs the adjoining Lyons Ferry Marina.
